Technically B450 chipset motherboards are compatible with Ryzen 3000 series processors including Ryzen 9 3900x. For some motherboards, you might need BIOS update, but MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC comes with pre updated BIOS, and you don’t have to mess up with it. However, these motherboards might limit the overclocking power and don’t give you much performance as of x570 chipset, but for a low budget, they are right. This motherboard comes with Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, pair of M.2 slots with heatsinks and RGB lights that give your PC some great aesthetics and fancy looks.
MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC has extended VRM heatsink but lacks IO cover shield. It has two USB 2.0 ports two USB 3.1 Gen1 ports and USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A and Type-C ports for connectivity. Also high-speed ethernet port and Wi-Fi antenna slots with six audio ports. For the graphics card, it has two PCIe x16 slots with MSI Steel armour and three PCIe x1 slots for expansion cards. It has six SATA6 slots with two M.2 slots, and one has M.2 shield heatsink. If you did some wrong OC or BIOS settings you can reset them using the BIOS reset button on the back of the motherboard.
This is overall an excellent B450 chipset motherboard, but for Ryzen 3900x it’s not enough because of its limited OC power. Also, it’s a premium B450 chipset motherboard, but you can get some entry-level x570 chipset motherboard for the same price. This motherboard is also power-hungry even when working on idle and there are limited storage interface options.
I would not recommend you to go with this motherboard if you have a pretty good budget for your PC because it limits the power of your CPU. If you are low on budget or entry-level x570 chipset motherboards are not available then you can consider this for Ryzen 9 3900.

This motherboard is best for Ryzen 2000 and 3000 series processors only if you are low on budget. It lacks a secondary M.2 slot while its competitors are cheap and offer pair of M.2 slots. Also, the RGB controller is not independent, and you have to change RGB lights through software.
For its price and performance, this motherboard is recommended for budget builds but if you got a few more bucks you can go with MSI B450 Carbon or some entry-level x570 chipset motherboard. However, it’s not that bad if you still consider this for your Ryzen 9 3900X Motherboard.

One bad thing with this motherboard is the low number of SATA and USB connectors interfaces as there are only 4 SATA slots which are not enough. Also, you can use only one PCIe x1 slot at a time while there are two available. But comparing it with other premium motherboards, it’s still less expensive and has almost the same features. Overall, for its price and performance, it’s a good deal to go with this Ryzen 9 3900X motherboard. There are some ASUS ROG motherboards available for the same price too, but this one gives excellent performance for its value.

This motherboard is overpriced because it’s for enthusiasts but not that much for its features. If you are planning to install a big graphics card, the chipset fan sits just behind the GPU and gets heats from it. But that’s only the bad with this motherboard, and we found nothing else to mention.
ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero Wi-Fi is good enough if you got a high budget for your Ryzen 9 3900x. It is offering premium features that other motherboards might be giving for a high price point. If you are looking for something powerful enough to handle your Ryzen 9 3900x this motherboard is the best choice for you. This motherboard is an excellent alternative of Gigabyte X570 AORUS EXTREME but for a shallow price point.
ASRock motherboards are best for AMD and Intel CPUs, and instead of spending money on utilities software and aesthetics, they pay on features that every modern PC demands. As it is an entry-level motherboard, you are not going to see premium features in it, but still, there are some to consider this. This motherboard gives decent performance over the B450 chipset motherboards, but it’s a bit pricy over them. It lacks IO cover on the rear side while for the same price there are some options with the cover. Also, it doesn’t have RGB lights and doesn’t give your PC fancy looks, but for performance and price, it’s still an excellent choice for Ryzen 9 3900X motherboard micro atx.
ASRock X570M Pro4 is an m-ATX motherboard and can be easily fit into any mid-tower or full tower PC chassis. It has everything a budget gaming PC demands as we are considering it for R9 3900x, it’s a good deal. But if you want something more powerful or have more budget for the motherboard, there are some other options available too.

It’s a Mini ITX Motherboard and still have two M.2 ports which make it right to consider. This motherboard has Q-Flash Plus BIOS with which you can easily update BIOS. Overall, it’s a good deal to consider for any compact of mid-tower gaming PC.
AMD Ryzen 9 3900x is a high-end processor, but if you want to get the full performance out of it, a good chipset and VRM motherboard is required. This CPU directly competes with TR and other mainstream CPUs released before. I would recommend you to get an x570 chipset motherboard but not overpriced premium motherboard so you can get full performance from this chip without wasting money. Because with these CPUs you can easily get higher clock rates and get more performance. But if you ignore overclocking and for a low budget, you can also consider B450 chipset motherboards.
